Tremolite gets its name from the area it was first discovered in Switzerland, Val Tremola. It is usually found in massive habits in rock formations, although it can also be found in beautifully coloured crystals in shades of pink called Hexagonite, which are coloured by Manganese, or in shades of green coloured by Chromium. Tremolite is very closely related to Actinolite, and also can make up Nephrite Jade.
