Seraphinite is the name given to a variety of the green mineral Clinochlore with sparkling silver mica inclusions that give this green crystal its shimmering effect. The name Seraphinite is thought to come from the Celestial beings the Seraphim. These beings had 3 pairs of wings, one pair to hide their face, one pair to hide their feet, and one pair to fly with; and the feather like patterns in Seraphinite are said to resemble these wings. It was only discovered in the 19th Century, and is mined in very limited locations in Siberia, Russia.
