Pietersite is a crystal that has a similar appearance to Tiger's Eye, although it is a variety of Chalcedony rather than Quartz, as with Tiger's Eye. Its bluey-gold chatoyancy comes from fibrous amphibole minerals in the crystal. It was named after its discoverer, Sid Pieters, who first found it in Namibia in 1962.
