Peacock Ore

Peacock Ore is the name given to Chalcopyrite and Bornite interchangeably. Bornite is naturally iridescent with rainbow colours, albeit it much more muted. Chalcopyrite is the one that is most often seen for sale, and the rainbow colours are achieved by dipping it in acid to bring out the dazzling surface colour.
