Dumortierite
Dumortierite is found in a variety of colours, including blues, browns, reds and whites, although the blue is the most common, and is often confused with Lapis Lazuli and Sodalite. It is sometimes seen growing as a blue inclusion in Quartz, rare specimens show clearly defined needles of Dumortierite growing through the crystal. It was first classified in 1881 by French mineralogist Gonnard, and he named it after paleontologist Eugene Dumortier.
Dumortierite helps with increasing intellectual abilities and aiding in developing patience. It also helps to boost self-esteem and courage. The crystal has a strong association with the Throat Chakra, which it balances, and aids communication with spirit guides. The energy of Dumortierite is gentle yet powerful, and it is said to have a calming effect on the mind, allowing for clearer thinking and decision making
