9 products
Dumortierite is found in a variety of colours, including blues, browns, reds and whites, although the blue is the most common, and is often confused with Lapis Lazuli and Sodalite. It is sometimes seen growing as a blue inclusion in Quartz, rare specimens show clearly defined needles of Dumortierite growing through the crystal. It was first classified in 1881 by French mineralogist Gonnard, and he named it after paleontologist Eugene Dumortier.
