Dianite is a rare beautiful blue gem, coloured by Amphibole and found in a remote part of Russia. It is often marketed as Blue Jade, although it is a not a true Jade as it is not a variety of either Nephrite or Jadeite, and is also known by the rather less catchy Potassicrichterite. It was a recent discovery, only found in 1997, and was named after the late Diana Princess of Wales who passed away that year.
