This shining specimen of Stibnite is from the famous Longshan deposit in Hunan, China. You will receive the exact Stibnite crystal shown in the photos.
Stibnite is the most important source for the metal Antimony, and is very soft. It has been found notably in China, Japan and the Western USA. Many internet articles hype Stibnite as being one of the most dangerous minerals on the planet due to it's high antimony content, but truthfully Stibnite is nearly insoluble and so poses very little danger to humans. The only danger comes through ingesting it (which you should never do with any mineral specimen), and you would need to consume over 90g of this to begin to be fatal, and it would be very unlikely to stay in your body long enough to be dangerous due to it's low solubility.
Although It is safe to handle, we always recommend washing your hands after handling any mineral specimen. Due to it's delicate crystal structure and the soft nature of the metal, it's best kept as a display specimen with mininmal handling to prevent damage to it.
