Holmsquistite is actually a very closely related group of minerals, first discovered in the Uto Mines in Stockholm County, Sweden. It is a lithium bearing member of the Amphibole family, and is usually formed as an alteration of existing Amphiboles. The acicular, needle like crystals of Holmsquistite can be found in shades varying from blue to a deep navy blue - black.
