Description
This impressive Ammonite, specifically Mammites nodosoides, fossil is a genuine extinct marine cephalopod that lived during the Late Cretaceous Period, around 90 million years ago, when dinosaurs still ruled the land and huge seas covered much of what is now Europe.
Ammonites are among the most recognisable fossils in the world, known for their coiled shells and intricate patterns. Closely related to today's squid, octopus, and nautilus, they thrived in ancient oceans before becoming extinct along with the non-avian dinosaurs at the end of the Cretaceous period 66 million years ago.
Mammites nodosoides is particularly admired for its distinctive shell ornamentation, with pronounced ribs and characteristic rounded nodes (small bumps) on the surface. These striking features make it a particularly attractive species to add to your collection, or to give as gift to someone with a love for fossils and the oceans.
You will receive the exact fossil in the photo.
