Tugtupite is a crystal very closely related to Sodalite, and the two can often be found growing together. Tugtupite is tenebrescent, which means that upon exposure to sunlight it will change colour from a pale pink to a much deeper shade. It was first found in Greenland in the late 1950s, and takes its name from the Tugtup area of Greenland where it was discovered.
