Paraiba Tourmaline
Paraiba Tourmaline is one of the more recent gem discoveries, only making its way onto the scene in 1989 when they were discovered in Brazil. They take their name from the Brazilian Paraiba state. Brazilian gems are much more valuable than the newer discoveries in Mozambique or Nigeria, although they are hard to visually tell apart. The bright, usually neon blue-green colour is caused by copper, which is unusual for Tourmaline, and is often referred to as Cuprian Tourmaline. Although bright blue-green is the most desirable colour for Paraiba Tourmaline, pink and purple shades have also been discovered.
Paraiba Tourmaline helps to align the Chakras, promoting a balanced and harmonious flow of energy throughout the body. Paraiba Tourmaline's influence is particularly pronounced in its strong and radiant Heart energy, fostering a profound sense of love and connection. It inspires compassion, both for oneself and for others, cultivating a deeper understanding and empathy. This crystal also aids in the process of forgiveness and letting go, supporting emotional healing and personal growth.
