Fairburn Agate

Fairburn Agate is the State Gemstone of South Dakota, and is a unique variety of Fortification Agate. It takes its name from the town of Fairburn where it was first discovered. Fortification Agate is a named given to Agates that display a sharp, angular banding pattern, so named for it's resemblance to the fortifications of a castle.
