Description

This rare specimen of Torbernite is from Cornwall in the UK. You will receive the exact Torbernite crystal pictured.

Torbernite is a rare green secondary mineral that is found in oxidised copper deposits that contain Uranium. Caution should be taken when handling and storing this mineral, but it makes an excellent addition to a gem collection.

It goes without saying you should never consume/inhale/sand/otherwise absorb any of this minerals dust, but neither should you any other mineral. Keep it inside a case when storing, as the major worry with Uranium minerals is radon gas as the uranium decays. An interesting comparison I found on FinkMinerals was that one Torbernite specimen they had measured at a tenth of the comparable radiation you are exposed to on a typical airplane flight.
