This unusual Azurite and Malachite slice is taken from a nodule found in the Dzhezkazgan Mining District in Kazakhstan. It has been polished to show off the colouration and patterning. You will receive the exact crystal shown in the photos.
Azurite is a soft, deep blue copper mineral formed by oxidised copper. Azurite is named after the colour Azure, and this deep blue crystal is often found alongside Malachite. It was used to create a deep blue pigment for painting by many civilisations, including the ancient Egyptians and the Europeans during the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. Azurite was prized by the ancient Mayans for developing their psychic abilities, and the Egyptians used it to aid spiritual communication.
