Apatite

Apatite is actually a name given to a family of crystals. Apatite can usually be seen in shades of yellow, green and blue, with the 'neon' varieties being the most popular. It is easily mistaken for tourmaline and beryl, hence it takes it name from Greek mythology, where Apate was the personification of deceit and deception. Blue Apatite is the most popular of the Apatite colours, with the most striking blue colours being found in Madagascar. Transparent gems are faceted and highly desired by collectors, as they are too soft to be worn in jewellery with a hardness of only 5. Fluorapatite is the most common member of the Apatite family.

Apatite helps to remove negativity and connect to the Heart Chakra. It is also an excellent manifestation crystal and helps balance the heart and mind. Apatite can reconnect us to the Earth's energies and boost motivation and enthusiasm at work. It also builds a connection with the animal kingdom, which can help us understand and appreciate the natural world around us.
