Description

Discovered in the famed Maevarano Formation of Madagascar, this sharp and well‑preserved theropod tooth comes from Majungasaurus, the top predator of Late Cretaceous Madagascar. Unlike many fossil teeth that can’t be confidently matched to a species, these teeth are an exception as Majungasaurus is the only known large theropod from this formation, and its distinctive teeth have been well-studied and confirmed by paleontologists.

This tooth captures the power and mystery of one of Earth’s last big predators before the age of dinosaurs came to a close. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just starting out, this is a rare and striking addition to any fossil collection. You will receive the exact specimen pictured.

Majungasaurus was a stocky, meat-eating dinosaur that belonged to the abelisaur family, a group known for their short, blunt skulls, small arms, and powerful jaws. It grew up to 7 meters (23 feet) in length and likely hunted or scavenged across riverbeds and floodplains. A fascinating thing about Majungasaurus was that It showed strong evidence of cannibalism, bite marks on fossil bones match its own teeth. That makes it not only one of the last abelisaurids to live before the mass extinction, but also one of the more fearsome.
