Rhodochrosite is a very attractive pink-red coloured crystal, with collectible specimens being rare, and large crystals of the mineral even more so. Rhodochrosite is the national gemstone of Argentina, and it is also the state gemstone of Colorado. The ancient Inca civilisation called it the Inca Rose and believed that Rhodochrosite was the blood of their former kings and queens turned to stone!
