Fossilized Agnostida Trilobites on a Shale matrix from Utah, USA. Theses are of the Peronopsis genus. You will recive the exact item as pictured.
Agnostid trilobites were tiny, blind arthropods that scuttled through ancient seas over 500 million years ago, mostly during the Cambrian and Ordovician periods. Unlike their more flamboyant trilobite cousins, Agnostids were minimalist, and almost symmetrical in design - typically only a few millimetres long, with just two or three body segments and no eyes at all.
Some genera, like Agnostus or Peronopsis, are thought to have been either deep-sea dwellers or planktonic drifters, still the subject of debate among paleontologists. Their compact, almost symmetrical form and mysterious lifestyle make them a bit of a trilobite enigma!
