Found in the North African desert, this is an example of ironstone regolith concretion formed by the hardening of iron rich mud in layers over huge periods of time in sedimentary sandstone. Although the technical term would be ironstone concretion, it's much easier to explain as fossilised mud, due to how they were created, with each piece having a totally unique form and pattern. You'll receive the exact piece of 'fossil mud' as pictured.
