Blue Mist Quartz is a rare type of Quartz that is only found in Colombia, and has slight hints of a wispy blue glow inside. It is also known as Blue Smoke Quartz, and the blue "inclusions" have been attributed to the presence of the Lithium mineral Cookite. However what first appears as inclusions are actually the hollow fibre tubes, remains of a long dissolved mineral, and the colour effect is caused by light scattering, known as the Tyndall effect.
