Andalusite

Andalusite is strongly pleochroic and as such can appear different colours from different angles. It was named after the place where it was believed to have been found, Andalusia in Spain. However it was later discovered that their geography was not quite as good as their geology, as the town they were actually from was El Cardoso which is not in the Andalusian region.

Chiastolite is a variety of Andalusite that contains black graphite inclusions in a cross pattern. Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite all share the same chemical formula, but they crystallise differently, which is determined by the geologic conditions when they form.

Andalusite empowers the spirit with the courage of independence. It acts as an emotional anchor, centering and harmonizing the tumultuous currents within, fostering emotional equilibrium. With its calming influence, it facilitates unwavering focus, promoting a tranquil and collected state of mind. Andalusite harnesses creative energies, channeling them without drifting into impracticality. It also stands as an exceptional aid for meditation, enhancing the meditative experience and deepening inner exploration.
