This rare combination of Goethite on Quartz is often labelled as Turgite, another name for iridescent Hematite or Goethite (it is not a recognised mineral species). Althought most iridescent Goethite comes from Mexico or Spain, it can also be found coating Quartz crystals in very rare cases in Madagascar, showing varying degrees of iridescence. You will receive the exact Goethite crystal pictured.
Goethite is an iron mineral that can be found in a range of colours including red, orange, yellow and black. It is named after Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, a well known naturalist and philosopher. It is often found as a golden inclusion in Quartz, sometimes mistaken for Cacoxenite.
