Darwin Glass, also known as Darwinite, is a Tektite that can be found near Queenstown in Tasmania. It is named after Mount Darwin, the area that the meteor hit that created the crater from which Darwin Glass was formed, the Mount Darwin Crater which is 1.2km wide! It is different from other Tektites like Indochinite as it is a grey brown green colour, unlike the normal black colour. The shape of this particular impact glass is unusual as well, as it can form in twists and folds as well as the more normal droplet appearance.
