A Guide to Grounding

What is grounding?

Grounding is keeping a grip on reality by maintaining connection to the earth. When healing this could involve drinking a glass of water or stamping your feet when done. Always use a grounding crystal as part of your set when working with crystals

You may need grounding when:

  • your relationships don't last
  • your career is just a job
  • you can't make your mind up, or focus on the project in hand
  • you have a tendency to jump between fads
  • you daydream a lot or tend to drift between things
  • you attract emotional leeches

How to ground:

Sit somewhere comfortable where you won't be disturbed. Hold a grounding crystal in both hands and rest them on your thighs. Close your eyes and focus on breathing – in and out of nose. Empty your mind with each exhalation. On each inhalation imagine a clear light sweeping through your body and bringing in new clean energy. When you are refreshed, feel the energy of the crystals in your hands flowing up your arms and filling your torso. Feel it flowing through spine, down legs and into the floor, through your feet and rooting you into the earth like a tree. Visualise growing roots if you can. You are now grounded. Open your eyes and continue with your crystal work.
