Aquamarine

Aquamarine is the blue variety of the mineral Beryl, and is classed as a semiprecious stone. It is a favourite in jewellery, and lower quality Aquamarine can be found fairly inexpensively in tumbled and raw form. It is also the birthstone for the month of March. The largest Aquamarine ever found was discovered in Brazil in 1910 and it weighed 110kg. In the Middle Ages, Aquamarine was prized as the most superior material for fortune telling crystal balls; whilst in 1377 William Langland praised the gemstone as an antidote for poison.

Aquamarine emboldens the spirit with courage and heightens intuition, guiding one through life's complexities. Aiding communication, especially for sensitive souls, it fosters understanding and effective self-expression. This crystal's nurturing essence facilitates the release of emotional burdens, freeing one from anger, stress, and grief, fostering self-healing and closure. Beyond its emotional support, Aquamarine extends a protective embrace, guarding travellers, particularly during boat journeys. It stands as a beacon of courage, nurturing tolerance and responsibility, while also sharpening intellect and clarity. With a protective aura encompassing pregnancy, it safeguards against miscarriage. This gem purifies the body, a perfect companion for meditation to achieve balance among the physical, emotional, and mental realms. As a bonus, Aquamarine enhances brain focus and study, making it a versatile ally for various aspects of life.
